  3. What time period is it going to be, late or mid? something we should find out or decide on before registration opens.

  4. The Era, and points level would be cool to know.

  5. I think Mid War would be best, as people will be finishing off their Mid War stuff from the Escalation League. besides, next Game Summit (so fall/winter) we can do Late.

When you coming to visit your folks Shawn? You def. need to get a game in with us :)

  7. I have family in the Ottawa area and more moving there this summer, so I might come up a few days before the event and stay a few after and just fly back North near the end of the month. I would love to game as much as a I can while down. I would appreciate an invite for sure. We can chat about it until the date arrives. If its mid war thats no problem my painted mid war army should be here at months end. If its late that is no issue either. Right now I am gearing up for the Early War Nationals in Penn. and the I-95 event a day before Nationals. Thats in Early July. If your playing mid war it will give me a month or so to get practised up with it. For Nationals I am going in cold so I don't expect anything, except to have a lot of fun.

  8. Have any terrain in Ottawa? ;)

  9. I think it was a blatant attempt to see if we would get a chance to play on your stuff :)

This attempt is of course, fully endorsed by me too!

  10. I do not, but there is a chance I might have something with me. We can see what the time brings. There is nothing that says we could have a building day, I could perhaps give you guys some tips or a hand making something. That might not be of any interest but I will throw it out there.

  11. Hey Terrain Guy... I'm really stoked that you're coming and I hope we get a chance to chat and say hi. Let me know if you need anything at all (over at the Game Summit forums, I'm Orbital101 ...http://gamesummit.ca/forum/index.php)

  12. I am on the forums now so I look to contribute to the conversation.

  13. So, booking my plane tickets this week for the event. Just a few questions.

    1. How far from Ottawa is the convention center, is it near the NHL rink?

    2. It looks like I will be staying in town until around the 19th (leaving that day). So did you guys want to get some games in following the event or something?

  14. I can give you a from anywhere to anywhere. The Nepean Sportsplex is about 15 kms from ScotiaBank place. Im assuming that your folks live in that direction, which is good.. since everyone but me lives over there (I live downtown)

Once you figure out how long you are staying, we can figure out what other games to get in after/before the event.

  15. I am not sure where they live, I actually haven't been to their house before (well not this one anyway). I should be able to get around, but might need a lift or at the very least directions. It should like I am staying for a least a week in total.

  16. Ya, the rink is very west.. the Nepean Sportsplex is south-west.

Neither are all that mass transit friendly.

Friday Night Fights & Project Ultra for WWPD

This week on the virtual battlefield, it was an all Infantry affair as I continued to test Rob's Canadians for the upcoming 2013 Historicon tournament. We rolled up 'No Retreat' as the mission. Seeing as we both field foot footsoldier lists, we had to roll over who would attack. I came up with the higher number after Rob rolled a big fat 1. After choosing which end he would defend, we began deployment and objective placements. Enjoy the video of the game and I happened to take some pics as well covering most of the action.

Looking at the board layout, Rob chose the best side from which to defend. No matter which way I wanted to approach from, there were going to be a lot of slow moving anti-tank guns and bog checks moving 4" at a time in order to get range on those dug in Canadians. I have to say after being bombarded nearly every turn, rocket batteries are the way to go for maximum effect on target.

I had a hard time breaking through all the terrain to get my guns go…

A forum?!

Who ever said imitation is the highest for of flattery? I guess I just did. So, I thought it was time we started our own forum, accessible by the public, to talk all things TableTop Tactician. Lists reviews, events/news, anything people want to chat about - so have at it!

So hope on over the to the Forum table and introduce yourself and get posting!

VERSION 4 Flames Test Game 1 DAK vs Desert Rats

"What do you say, old boy, shall we go kick the Jerries out of Africa?" Monty

Using the WWPD rules compilation, and stats and such from the preview copy of the rulebook that stores have, plus some from the latest WGI, we apply our Team Yankee prowess to run a Test game of Version 4.  TO make equivalent lists, I used V3 points for both (1340pts) and the DAK force comes out at 82 pts using V4 points.  Video with our opinions at bottom of article.   Lets see the lists:
