Warhammer 40k Batrep #s 5 & 6!

Well hot damn, its looking to be a busy time here at Dice Devils! We've managed to light a few fires and see continued content posted to the blog every few days! Heck its even tough finding room to squeeze in some things without bumping the other new content. We even have a new podcast! If you missed it, here it is again! That said, I know most of the Dice Devils crew has moved on from 40k, I'm back with renewed interest after starting to look at the game in another light. Despite the general negative sentiment we put out about 40k and Games Workshop in general, they still produce the best model, bar none, and have an amazing universe for us to play in. Without anymore chatter, here are a couple batreps I did over the last few weeks, the latter being a tourney prep game for a Tournament held a week or so ago at FDB Gatineau. Enjoy, and please comment if you like, hate or have a recommendation!

Warhammer 40k Batrep #4 Marines Vs...Marines?!

I suck at computers, lol. This batrep got delayed a week or so because I couldn't figure out how to splice the video clips together after its off my phone. Insert fellow Dice Deviler CA$H and his recommendation of Windows Movie Maker and the vid is ready to go! This was my last game prior to a tourney I was supposed to attend, but sadly work kept me away (boo-urns!!). As such, my opponents list had a bit more 'teeth' and I continued my path down figuring out 40k, 7th Edition and Marines in general all over again. I need some of the shiny new Marine things, and I'm hoping to find them at Historicon in a couple weeks. Yeah I know its a Historical Con, but when I went a couple years back, I saw loads of 40k in the Flea Market! Anyways, no more gilding of the lily... Cheers, and thanks for watching!

Warhammer 40k Batrep #3 Marines Vs. Sisters of Battle!

Back at it again folks with another quick 40k battle report. This time I got to play against a local gamer and friend Steve. We played at GW Coliseum and got to use their awesome terrain for the battle. I won't give anything away but this game was shorter than most, lol. We bumped the game from 1500 to 1850 as Steve had just finished an 1850 game and that way could use the exact same army. My list sadly remained similar to older lists because of the points jump last minute. Let me know what you all think! Cheers, JO

Warhammer 40k Batrep #2 Marines Vs. Eldar!

Hello again all, I managed to sneak in another game of 40k last night with a buddy Shahin! I ran my same Marine list as the first battle report, as I'm mostly trying to learn rules here, not worrying as much about tactics and such. I promise once this learning curve is off and I pick a list, painting will be stepped up to make these bat reps look prettier. Anyways, without further adieu, here is Batrep 002 Marines v. Eldar

Back To The Future...40,000 Years Into the Future!

Hello guys and gals, Joyous here with something new and old at the same time. Originally, most of the Dice Devils' videos were of 40k bat reps (provided by our own MattVarnish) though with the rise of Flames of War in our group, the 40k games died down to a trickle, and then none within a couple years. Even most of of the Dice Devils now have sold off or are trying to sell off their remaining 40k armies.

I couldn't do it. Sure I trimmed some of my collections but I love the 40k universe and, who am I kidding here, the models.

Sure, its a premium price for GW models, but NO ONE has their level of quality in plastic models currently and none look even remotely close.

I knocked together a haphazard army of Space Marines for this battle report just to start trying the new rules.

Honestly, the game is a blast to play, and while it isn't the same game you remember, there is a tonne more in it now which makes it both more competitive and more prone to balance issues, though balance is easily fixed within your group of friends.

Anyways, without further adieu, here is the video, please enjoy and please comment to let me know what I can do to make the next battle reports better! Just don't say buy a new video camera and a tripod, as that's outside the budget, lol.

Italian Campaign Round 1 AAR - FSSF v. Germans

Hello all, thought I'd drop in a quick AAR I had with fellow Dice Devil Diragi today as part of our day long Good Friday Hobby/painting/gaming/bad movie day at CA$H's place.

Since this is the first tier of our campaign we had 750 points to play with and we only had to have 1 of the 'mandatory' combat platoons in our armies. The next tier is when normal lists are required. I'm running my FSSF as I managed to make a list that will help me clear a tonne off my painting queue as this campaign draws on. Note, I am running these out of Dogs and Devils due to not having the new books yet!

A "small" diversion...

BATTLTECH! This was my first miniature game. As I mentioned in my last post, Battletech holds a dear place in my hobby heart. I remember do...
